More on Obama Being a Pansy-Assed Liar

For all two of you who read my blog and saw my long, rant-errific comment in response to S's query, here's some more info on Obama's eight campaign promises. The campaign promises were posted on the White House website on inauguration day, and are available in their original form here.

Those promises were:
  1. Expand Hate Crimes Statutes to include LGBT
  2. Fight Workplace Discrimination with support for the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA)
  3. Support Full Civil Unions and Federal Rights for LGBT Couples
  4. Oppose a Constitutional Ban on Same-Sex Marriage (DOMA)
  5. Repeal Don't Ask-Don't Tell
  6. Expand Adoption Rights regardless of sexual orientation
  7. Promote AIDS Prevention
  8. Empower Women to Prevent HIV/AIDS
On May 1, as Obama's backbone began melting faster than his lies could make up for it, and the Don't Ask, Don't Tell issue starting getting more press coverage, the language on the White House website was changed.

As AmericaBlog describes in the link above, those eight promises were folded into the following:
  1. Passing ENDA.
  2. Support of Civil Unions, but no longer a mention of repealing DOMA.
  3. Opposing the constitutional amendment.
You can read the rest at the link above.

Now, it turns out that these awesome new benefits that federal employees will get (if you ignore that teeny-tiny unimportant thing about HEALTH INSURANCE) aren't actually new at all - they're rights that federal employees have had SINCE THE CLINTON ADMINISTRATION.

A good article by John Aravosis here.

Now, Dan Savage put out a protest idea that is pretty cool, so if anyone is thinking about hanging out in DC anytime soon, this might be a good way to spend the day.
